Diffability (with Audio and Description)

An animated video (with audio description) by Reva Adhitama highlights the multiple experiences of people with diffabilities living in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. It explores their everyday lives their experiences of the 2018 earthquake. These stories are drawn from a series of creative workshops facilitated by GENERATE with people with diffabilities in the city of Mataram in October 2022.

This video was produced after extensive consultation with people with diffabilities to ensure that it not only reflects their experiences and multiple challenges of living in an ableist world, but to ensure that regardless of their diffability, they can watch it as well

Fishing Community in Lombok

These sketches by Reva Adhitama capture moments from a workshop exploring the lived experiences of fishing communities who live on the small island of Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara. Fishers spoke of waves drawing closer while fish disappeared further away, the increasing precarities of fishing livelihoods, the physical and mental costs of lifetimes as fishers, and what it is to age in the face of climate change.
